Version 2.2 · Effective 14 August 2026

Terms of Use

Welcome to Wundaloom. These are the terms between you and Wundaloom Ltdthat govern your use of the Wundaloom app and website. We've kept them as short and plain as we can.

1. Who we are

“Wundaloom”, “we”, “us” means Wundaloom Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

  • Company No. [pending Companies House confirmation]
  • Registered office: [pending — registered office address on the Companies House register at submission]
  • Email: support@wundaloom.com
  • Telephone: [pending business number]

2. Who can hold an account

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Wundaloom account. The account is for you, the adult parent or guardian, to manage reading for the children in your care.

You are responsible for the child profiles you create under your account. Wundaloom does not sign contracts with children — you are the party contracting with us on behalf of your child.

3. Your account and Parent Zone

You're responsible for keeping your email, password, and Parent PIN safe. The Parent PIN gates adult actions such as subscribing, adding or removing a child profile, or deleting your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account, change your password and tell us at support@wundaloom.com.

4. What Wundaloom is

Wundaloom is a curated library of children's stories. Every story is written and illustrated by Wundaloom or licensed to us by its authors. A subscription gives you and the children in your profiles a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to read those stories through our app while the subscription is active. You do not acquire ownership of any story text, illustration, or audio.

5. Personalised editions and Dream Keys

Some stories can be personalised so that your child appears as the hero (in the text, and optionally in the narration). Each personalised edition is created using Dream Keys, an in-app currency you purchase from us through Apple or Google.

  • Dream Keys are not real currency and cannot be transferred, resold, or exchanged for cash.
  • Dream Keys have no expiry date while your account is active.
  • Personalised editions you have already created remain in your library while your account is active, regardless of subscription status.
  • Adult-gated: buying Dream Keys and creating personalised editions require the Parent PIN.

When you create a personalised edition of story text, we send an anonymous placeholder token (not your child's real name) plus your pronoun choice and the source story text to OpenAI to generate the new edition. Our server substitutes the real name into the returned text on our infrastructure. Personalised narration audiois currently unavailable and cannot be enabled until the Wundaloom OpenAI project is confirmed for the required data-retention configuration; when re-enabled, narration will require the child's real name for pronunciation, transmitted only via the paid Dream Key purchase flow behind Parent PIN + billing data consent. See our Privacy Policy §5 for detail.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Wundaloom subscriptions are billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us directly. At the point of purchase you will see the full price, the billing period (monthly or annually), and any free-trial length. Subscriptions auto-renew at the price shown until you cancel.

To cancel a subscription, use the subscription-management screen in your device settings (Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Google: Play Store → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.

Refunds for subscriptions and Dream Key purchases are handled under Apple's and Google's refund policies and, where applicable, your rights under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

7. Free trials

Where we offer a free trial, the trial length, the price after the trial, and the renewal date are shown before you start the trial. You may cancel any time during the trial without charge; once the trial ends, the paid subscription begins automatically at the price shown.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits.
  • Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit any story text, illustration, audio, or other Wundaloom content.
  • Circumvent the parental gate, Parent PIN, or subscription entitlement checks.
  • Use the service in a way that breaches applicable law or infringes anyone's rights.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data.

9. Content ownership

All stories, illustrations, narration audio, character designs (including “Wunda”), the Wundaloom logo, and the app and site design are owned by Wundaloom Ltd or licensed to us. Personalised editions you create are owned by Wundaloom Ltd; you hold a personal, non-transferable licence to read them in the app.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work hard to keep the service available, but we don't promise uninterrupted uptime. We may update, add, or remove features from time to time. If we make a material change that affects paid subscribers unfavourably, we'll tell you in-app or by email in advance where reasonably possible.

11. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time (Parent Zone → Account → Delete account, or via wundaloom.com/delete-account). We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms; we'll tell you why unless doing so would be unlawful or unsafe.

On termination, subscription entitlements end. We delete personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Wundaloom is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Your consumer rights

If you are a consumer in the UK, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and Wundaloom Ltd agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

15. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change we'll increment the version number above and, for logged-in users, tell you in-app at least 14 days before the change takes effect where reasonably possible.
